Our story

Built by people who answered the phones.

Our founders ran service businesses before they wrote software. They watched leads evaporate at lunch hours, on weekends, and any time a single phone line was already busy. The available answers — call centers, generic IVRs, voicemail-to-email — felt insulting to the caller and lazy to the operator.

When real-time speech models became good enough to hold a natural conversation, we rebuilt the receptionist from scratch: not a chatbot bolted to a phone number, but an agent that books appointments, transfers warm calls, searches a knowledge base, and writes back to the CRM during the call.

Today, Receptic answers over a million calls a month for solo operators, multi-location franchises, and the agencies that sell to them. We're still small, profitable, and very much on the phones with our customers.
